Terms and Conditions
Hire Period
Minimum hire period is 24 hours. All payments due must be collected in advance.
All hires will not exceed 27 days.
Payments
All payments can be made by Cash, Cheque, Credit or Debit Card.
Payment of Insurance excess must be paid by Credit or Debit card.
Driving Licence
All hirers must have held a full driving licence for a minimum of two years. Acorn Vehicle Rentals Insurers may accept some endorsements.
Age Restrictions
Acorn Vehicle Rentals are able to supply vehicles to hirers aged between 21 and 75 years. Hirers aged between 21 and 23 are restricted to car groups A and B only. Hirers aged 25 and over are restricted up to car group C. Hirers aged 29 and over have no restrictions when using the standard rental fleet.
Insurance
All retail hires are to be covered on Acorn Vehicle Rentals comprehensive insurance, hirers are liable for the first £500 of any damage caused to the vehicle.
Excess Waiver
The hirer will be given the option at rental start of purchasing Acorn Excess Waiver. If the hirer wishes to cover their excess liability, they can purchase Excess Waiver at the extra charge of £8.50 + VAT per day. The charges for Excess Waiver are none-refundable.
Hirers will be liable to pay all repair costs and loss of revenue to Acorn Vehicle Rentals, regardless if the hirer has taken out Excess Waiver cover, if any damage caused is deemed to be the hirers’ responsibility, due to the misuse of the vehicle, having RTA whilst under the influence of drugs or alcohol or any other substance.
None Insurable Items
The hirer will be liable throughout the rental period for Windscreen Damage and all other glass panels, all of the interior cabin, Tyres, Wheels and Trims, and underside of the body. The same applies with the commercial fleet with the addition of all roof damage. The hirer will be charged the total cost of repair plus loss of revenue for mechanical failure if it is proven the daily checks of Oil and Water have not been carried out.
Additional Drivers
Additional drivers can be added to the rental at rental start only. Any additional driver must confirm with Acorn Vehicle Rentals Terms and Conditions. Additional drivers added to the rental carry the standard charge of £5 + VAT per day per driver.
Extensions
All extensions must be confirmed within the 24 hours of the rental end time and date by telephone contact with the Acorn Vehicle Rentals hire desk.
Road Traffic Accidents
Acorn Vehicle Rentals must be informed immediately of any RTA how ever small. A replacement vehicle may be supplied if required but at Acorn Vehicle Rentals discretion.
Fuel Policy
All Vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel. The hirer is liable for fuel shortage on return. Any vehicle with fuel shortage will be re-fuelled and cost will be charged to the hirer at pump prices plus a service charge of £5 + VAT.
Meet and Greet Service
Acorn Vehicle Rentals offers a meet and greet service at the locations stated on our ‘welcome’ page. This service is offered free of charge through normal working hours (08:00 – 18:00 mon-fri / 08:00 – 12:00 sat). If the meet and greet service is required outside of these times, a standard charge of £10 + VAT will be charged.
